Top 10 Foods That Are Prone to Food Poisoning

10. Melons

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states that melons, specifically cantaloupes, have been known to contain dangerous bacteria like salmonella and listeria because they’re often handled with dirty hands. Many people don’t wash the melon before cutting into it, so the bacteria are then introduced to the fruit inside, thus leading to a foodborne illness. Therefore, the CDC advises that you scrub the melon with an abrasive brush and rinse thoroughly before slicing it up for your next barbecue.
