14. The Impulse to Flee
Like some people, he dreamed of a simpler life and complete isolation, but he didn’t spend adequate time preparing for it. Before he left, he had never even slept under the trees in complete darkness and had never used a tent before. Without proper preparation and training, it would be easy to become injured, starve, and die in the forest all by yourself.
