René was Céline’s manager before he was her lover. He was actually the one who insisted that Céline needed to record the song “My Heart Will Go On”. In an interview with Jonathan Ross, here was what Céline’s lover had to say: “[Angélil] said, ‘Let’s just do a demo. Let’s give it a try and we’ll see after.’ The demo is actually the real recording. I never sang the song again.” The song instantly became a hit after being released in 1997.
