Céline received some unsettling news that her husband, René, had throat cancer, in 1999. René was later advised by doctors that he would lose his basic abilities, which meant that Céline had to be his caretaker. She put a lot of effort into taking care of her husband, making sure that despite everything, he still lived life to the fullest.
