6. Pomeranian
Poms, as they’re affectionately called, are perfectly suited to life with a senior. These little guys pack a lot of personality into a small package. They require regular quick brushings and a monthly trip to the groomers to keep their coats shiny and healthy. This often comes as a surprise to people who think those fluffy coats are going to require hours of upkeep. They are loyal and protective of their owners, so socialize them around children and grandchildren early on.
