5. Beagle
The Beagle is friendly, active, and great with kids. This means they’ll keep you up and moving on a regular basis without any worries when your grandkids come to visit. They can be noisy, loudly baying when they catch an interesting scent. They’ll follow their noses, so they do best in homes with a fenced yard or by taking daily walks on a leash.
