Yorkshire Terrier
These are big dogs in a little dog’s body. While they are certainly lap-dogs, they are intensely loyal and protective of their humans. There are two popular ways to groom them, the long haired version (shown) which requires regular brushings and trips to the groomer or the “puppy-cut” in which their fur is kept shorter, making it much easier to maintain. Despite all that fur, they are a low-shedding breed making them an excellent choice for allergy sufferers. They make great companion dogs and enjoy snuggling with their humans, however very small children may overwhelm them. If you’d like a small dog with a big personality, the Yorkie is for you.
