Shetland Sheepdog
Bred to protect and herd sheep and other livestock, the Shetland Sheepdog makes an affectionate and devoted pet. Their herding instinct is so strong that you may check on them playing outside with the kids and find they’ve all been “herded” to the middle of the yard. Shetlands love to be with their families as much as possible. They also do well with other pets. Particularly receptive to training, Shetlands make excellent frisbee dogs and are often top performers in agility competitions. They require a bit of grooming to keep their long coats healthy and un-matted.
