It’s hard to miss dented or pitted nails. With this condition, the nails feel bumpy or have an uneven surface. It’s actually a normal part of aging if the dents are minor, but it may also indicate psoriasis. Psoriasis creates destructive cells on the nails beds, which stunt the growth of healthy nail cells. Psoriatic arthritis, which affect the joints of the arms and legs, can also cause pitted nails. Therefore, it’s always a good idea to talk to your doctor if you experience frequent pitted or dented nails.
