7. Clean Up Carpet Stains

Before using this solution be sure to test the mix on your individual carpet on a small, out-of-sight area. Most fabrics are completely safe, but it is better to check each fabric individually. Make a paste of 2 tablespoons of distilled vinegar and ¼ cup of either salt or baking soda (salt is easier to work with). Rub the mix into your stain and let it dry. The residue and the stain will simply vacuum away later in the day.
